Integrated technologies for innovating the concept of shelter.
Shelters should be more than simple weathering shields. In order to implement the intended protection, it is necessary to think of them as sustainable spaces that provide dignity.
Domus designs shelters, both for building sites and refugee camps, for civil and military use, of incomparable gain in quality of life when compared to other shelter options such as tents, trailers, schools and churches.
Domus’ shelters are equipped with a thermo-acoustic finish and individual electro-hydraulic circuit. They are more comfortable, compact and self-sufficient, allowing rainwater harvesting and reuse, effluent treatment and electricity generation without depending on local energy, water or sewage networks.
Each shelter is self-supporting (with its own floor structure, with no need of for a foundation or any other gorund interventions) and modular, making it perfect for projects of different scales, from one room up to large campsites with buildings of two or more hinged floors. These can be easily transported, with excellent logistic utilization: four shelters may be transported in a 20-foot container.
